You know the expression...
"College is for finding yourself...who you are... BLAH BLAH BLAH!"
Well, finding myself ... not so EZ...
So far I've figured out that...
1. I wanted to save the environment... It's hard to save the environment when you are only one person. And I kinda don't really care anymore... The economy is so bad, that my environmental mindset has become economical... IE--> Yeah, I drive a Honda...but not to save the environment, to save my WALLET!
2. I learned how to eat good stuff... The downfall is that I live in a +/-300 sq ft basement and don't have my own kitchen... therefore, I don't cook all that often... someone buy me a kitchen for my basement LOL
3. I found out that going to school for 16 years straight kinda blows... I only have... forever left! LESSON: TAKE A YEAR OFF BETWEEN HS AND COLLEGE!!! take your time and don't try to rush everything! You can't plan it all!
4. I realized that I still want to be a doctor... and what have I been going to school for 3 years for? to be an actuary! WTF?!
5. I realized that the first 3 years of undergrad have taught me NOTHING about being an actuary... I am in NO way prepared for the "real world"... again WTF?!
6. Oh yeah, guess what else "finding myself" has gotten me... Xanax and Zoloft... fun, huh?
7. This one is a secret... LOL
8. I want to get the F out of Michigan... the only good part is my family is here... SO, who's coming with me!?
9. I'm going to be working at MEGA for the rest of my life since I can't decide on a career path.
10. I am still an overachiever and procrastinator... not a good combination... How do you overachieve while procrastinating... go to school for 3 years for something you love, but not what you want to TRULY do...
11. I've also learned that BEER gives me hangovers... liquor on the other hand... just right... lol
I wonder how many more things I'll discover while "figuring out who I am"... Just though I'd share my soul searching with you... This has been an "adventure" of Michelle... no Mark... sorry to all that look forward to his involvement in the adventures...LOL

Michelle...I felt the way you are feeling right now and then I TOOK A PREGNANCY TEST (then came Carson)!!! Your whole family cares about the earth, walk up the stirs and cook something (your garden should be producing soon)...You are smart and mega is lucky to have you...you are going to make millions...finally take a vitamine and a tylenol at the end of the night when you have been drinking (makes the morning better)!
The years in school are the hardest - all work, study, and not many rewards. And you can ALWAYS change your career.After school, the rest gets easier to figure out. A great boss once told me to get a degree - any degree - in any field. With the degree in hand, I could get a job in any field ("most people don't work in the field they studied - it just matters that they have 'a degree'"). Whatever additional training you need can come on the job. Then you can take a year or two to try out some different jobs, then start a pre-med program if you want. (It took me 10+ years to finish my bachelors, and my masters, but I had fun doing it.) You will too. Just get through these first four years and things get better.
