Thinking spring...

I just needed something new on here lol ENJOY!

I can't wait for the lilacs to bloom! They smell wonderful! Can you smell them? ::sniff:: mmmm I can... almost!

I've started a family tree for every branch of my family--mom, dad, ken ... so I need every ones info on our families! I even found out what "once/twice removed" means! It's not what you think! If anyone has pictures, birthdays, names, children's names, parent's names, date/cause of death, and anything else you can think of for people in our families please email them to me! actuary0424@yahoo.com Thanks!! One way or another, I will prove that I AM a {Kohler} (and will get a free kitchen and bathroom out of it! lol) I'm going to do one for Mark's family too. NEW BEDROOM!

This week, we have been in the process of turning our basement craphole into a HOME! lol! We have a nice sleigh-type bed now! We have access to our dresser! (And can fold clothes to put in it now -- instead of them wrinkling in a laundry basket.) We set up some shelves--and I stole a storage thing from Alisha's room that we'll set up for more shelves. YAY! Oh, and best of all, we but up gliding curtain rails with curtains to divide us from the laundry room and the stairs. We are going to put them up around the bed too, with sheer fabric! I have some pictures of us in process... but I don't have final room pics yet. I'll get those up next week probably. When we get everything organized. Right now, it is all shoved in every spot possible, so that we could move everything around.

This is our *new* bed before... ...putting the footboard together...
(I was the directions and parts girl, and Mark was the handy man! lol) Here is the headboard finished! Here is the footboard finished... and the dresser with the T.V! --notice the Natural Cheetos! mmm! VOILA! The finished product! --I even made the bed!

Since the bed is too big, we have 1x8" pieces of wood holding the mattress centered, creating a nifty little storage area for my cute little slippers, and whatever else we can fit! lol

part two of our redecorating... privacy curtains! now, when someone comes down to do laundry, they aren't in our room! (they are actually purple, but the lighting is bad)

Mattress?

So, Mark and I went shopping at Ikea for a bed (in our little Honda lol). We found one and bought it in a King size (they were out of Queen). My wonderful mom wanted to go shopping, so she took us to pick it up. But, we are thinking it will be WAY too big for our Queen mattress. Here is a picture of it.

We haven't had time to set it up yet though. Our only free time is Tues/Weds since neither of us have to work. So, it should get set up on Tuesday, and we will see how much too big it is for our mattress. We have been browsing Craigslist for King size mattresses in the mean time. If anyone knows where we can get a King mattress under $200 let us know!!! I really want a memory foam mattress and found some on Ebay, but I don't know if I can trust them. I found a few used memory foam mattresses on craigslist for $500+, but that is well over our price limit... lol There is a place in Midland that has cheap mattresses, but that is WAY too far for just a bed lol... We would be better off finding a more expensive one here with the cost in gas to get there! Geez...

Again, if you know where I can get a good KING mattress under $200 let me know! We may just buy a really cheap, crappy one and get a memory foam topper for it. Keep your eye out for us! Thanks!

Winter wonderland!

You know that it is cold out when the dogs get to come inside! lol

Last night, Mark and I got home from the movies (we saw Sweeney Todd...Best movie ever!) anyways... we looked at the temp and it was 1 degree...with the wind chill at -8... so we cleaned up the cluttered breeze way and brought the dogs in for the night. It really hasn't warmed up, so they are still inside for another night. Boy, are they excited!


Sweeney Todd was great! Mind you, that it is a musical thriller; and therefore, will be singing (some of the people in front of us didn't know that and hated the movie)... As long as you know it is a musical, you will get it and enjoy it! So go now and watch it! Plus, for the ladies, Johnny Depp is in it! lol
